Introduction to occult guidance methods

This feature page will highlight occult divination methods.These readings can answer you just about any question. Various readers will perform various types divination readings and will require different amounts of information. Why "see into the future"? If you use it just to see, then why bother? It is either good or bad and why take away the surprise. I believe firmly in free will. Occult divination should not be used solely for prurient curiosity. At the very least the view without intent of improvement only works to scatter energy(even to the point of literally leaving astral bits of yourself in the viewed scenario). I hope each of my clients takes advantage of checking out a bit of the future by using his/her abilities to maximize the positive energy and to minimize the negative scars.

Overall, the guidance methods, even astrology, are only tools for channeling the prana or energy. Providers and clients choose certain tools,i.e. Tarot cards or crystal balls, because of an individual proclivity or sensitivity, not because one method is inherently more accurate than another tool. So, it is without any endorsement of a particular method that I will describe occult guidance methods.

Occult reading for self vs. others-why the difference in accuracy?

I almost always refer people to the guru or guide within. It is empowering to find out the answers from within oneself. However, sometimes with occult reading, it is helpful to have someone else do the reading to improve the accuracy. One reason that the other person can be more accurate than yourself in a reading is, of course, experience. Secondly, the reader may be more focused on the reading itself while you may be swimming in emotion around the issue. The lack of your focus can decrease your accuracy in reading for yourself. An extension of this difficulty is that you have an attachment to the answer or that you are vested strongly in a certain response. If you need to hear an answer very badly, you are extremely likely to give that answer to yourself(this need may even color a reading done by someone else).

So how can you increase the accuracy in readings that you do for yourself?

1. Continue to study your tool of divination.

2. Continue to practice on being generally centered in life.

3. Focus on the reading itself at the time of the reading. Pay attention to the process rather than the outcome.

Akashic records

Akashic records Akashic records is a concept that describes a collection of our information at all levels for all souls that incarnate on Earth. The records are considered to exist in another dimension. Akashic readers are those who can intuitively access the records and describe our past lives. A very intriguing aspect of this type of reading is the attention to details of the lives of the person being read. The reading will often sound like a book is being read aloud. Akashic record reading utilizes the linear concept of time. Intuitives using this theoretical framework do not view happening s on this Earth plane as occurring concurrently. Instead, they understand that multiple views of reality have their origins in the astral projection of our subtle energies. Bengston‘s(1997) book, Past Lives of Famous People Journeys of the Soul, gives a concise, comprehensible overview of the akashic record approach while providing insight and guidance with the descriptions of these famous folks.

Automatic writing or drawing

This occult tool is a nice basic tool for the beginner. With this tool, the reader gathers the equipment,ie. paper,pen, chalk,computer keyboard ,etc. Then the reader meditates or otherwise works to settle himself or herself. And finally, the reader sits quietly with the equipment closeby or in the hand. The reader will after a time find the hand guided to draw or write. At the end of the reading the urge to write or draw or type on the computer will cease. These messages may be very clear or they may be in symbols. It is helpful to keep the readings in a folder for the reader to review periodically. In this way the reader can assess the writings and/or drawings for recurrent messages that he or she might have missed.

I am partial to this form of divination for the beginner as I have noted in my practice and teachings that it is a tendency for highly evolved energies to guide the reader. Because of this the beginner is less likely to have a problem with difficulties of subtle energy stickiness(see my booklet on psychic healing for case histories of problems with subtle energy stickiness).

Channeling

Before beginning the explanation of channeling, I would like to clarify 2 very important points. Channeling is an active process. This means that the medium or receiver of the information from the spirit requests to be involved. A second key point is that a channeler receives the information from a specific spirit. The channeler or client may or may not be familiar with or understand the identity of the spirit.

Channeling states

Channeling falls into 4 main categories of states of consciousness. The levels of consciousness are as follows: full-conscious channeling; altered-state conscious channeling; light-trance channeling; full-trance channeling. As you may be able to infer from the terms, you may understand that the channeler's behavior during the channeling experience may vary from acting alert being able to interrupt the session and re-start the session to a complete loss of consciousness that may allow for the spirit to temporarily possess the body.

Purpose of channeling

As with all psychic work, the channeler and client need to have a helpful attitude and want to sincerely move forward. If the participants are not balanced in this way then problems will ensue. The problems range from an inaccurate reading to severe damage to either the channeler or the client. This is serious work not to be undertaken lightly.

What are channelers channeling?

This is a difficult question to answer in that there are many responses to this. Essentially, the channeler is providing communication between any entity of another realm to the client. This entity can be from another galaxy such as an alien. This entity can be a goddess, angel,deva, other incarnated human, departed friend or family. It is basically any entity that is organized enough to group its energy in a fashion that can be understood by a channeler.

What is the setting for a channeling experience?

Channeling can occur in any setting but is more likely to happen in a quiet, comfortable, positive environment. The experience can be an individual experience such as when the client is the channeler. Or the experience can involve groups of individuals, such as the old-fashioned seance.

What information do you get from a channeling experience?

It should be positive.If you are getting soundly scolded, verbally abused, or in any feeling threatened, stop immediately as you have likley opened the door to a negative energy entity. After you understand that the entity is a positive one, then move on to information seeking. With the information received, you should feel empowered and energized to move forward trying new things. Generally, your messages, be they complex or simple, should be directed at moving your forward spiritually.

Crystal Ball

As I have previously written each tool is a method to access the occult energy pathway or conduit. The crystal ball helps the reader to focus the psychic energy, as do the Tarot cards/pendulum/etc. As the psychic tunes into the crystal ball, the occult energy often manifests in a key trigger visual image in the crystal ball in a somewhat literal translation of clairvoyance. Frequently, the crystal ball acts as a conduit without a visual cue. While using the crystal ball as a concentration focal point, the psychic receives the occult energy for the reading. Crystal ball readings can address any type of question(general, specific, or yes-no queries).

Crystal balls are available at almost any store which sells psychic tools. The crystal ball should be cared for in a respectful manner. Practice with the ball will be your main method of learning the use. As you sit in front of it and begin your questioning, at first you may not see anything or get any impressions. However, with practice in using the crystal ball as your focal point, you will soon begin to get the psychic reading from the crystal ball. Good luck.

Dowsing-an introduction

Dowsing is the use of a hidden object?s vibrational energies to discern its location and nature by a practitioner. Most people who have heard of dowsing envision a person walking with a forked stick searching for water. This is one example and demonstrates the force of the underground water connecting with the practitioner?s tool. However, dowsing works in proximity or at a distance. The water hunt could also be carried out with the dowser working with a pendulum over a map whereby the pendulum pinpoints the water?s location. The ?object? of the dowsing can be any situation or occult issue. So, dowsers can approach all areas of the occult with/without tools(dowsing tools can include: a forked stick; pendulum with a weight/watch/crystal).One easy way to use dowsing for any issue would be to state the issue as a yes/no question. The practitioner simply delineates yes/no areas and makes the query. The provider and the tool then indicate the response. Dowsing is particularly appropriate for past life investigation, given its affinity to physical vibrational analyses. Hmm? archeologists should make a regular practice of including dowsers in their teams. Seriously, please remember to approach with a proper attitude any occult investigation. Have fun. Pendulum use for yes-no questions

The pendulum method of dowsing is an excellent form of psychic guidance for beginners. The pendulum, which is an object suspended from a fixed point, is held above a flat, clean or clear surface. Write down or visualize the yes axis and no axis, i.e. yes vertical and no horizontal, for the pendulum. Hold the pendulum above the surface in the center of the determined axis. Tell the pendulum to be still. Once it is still, ask the yes/no question. After some moments the pendulum will swing vigorously along either axis. You have your yes-no answer.

?Where do I start?? is one of the most frequent questions I hear about learning the Tarot. A starting process is the choice of a deck. Kaplan?s The Encyclopedia of Tarot(1978) describes very well the qualities of the classic decks. Basically, you pick what you like. Throughout my Tarot reading career I have been attracted to the Aquarian Tarot deck.The images are clean and somewhat geometric to me. Today, Tarot card designers combine the divination elements in glorious ways. One deck I find appealing for balancing work is ?The Herbal Tarot? by Michael Tierra and Candice Cantin. The herb assigned to each card is very appropriate to the card?s vibration. It would not be inconceivable to do a one card reading for health and use the presenting card to highlight an herbal choice. Of course, this one card health reading should only be part of your herbal research. Best of luck and enjoy.

Regular Card Playing Deck for Tarot Card Readings

Sometimes new readers ask about using a standard deck. It is fine to use this type of deck. The standard deck was the origin of the Tarot deck in many parts of the world. The spreads are handled in similar ways. You are missing the Major Arcana cards which deliver certain messages. However, if you work with the standard cards with good intent, you will gather the Major Arcana vibrations from the standard deck cards.You will still want to consult a Tarot reference book(I eventually will have the meanings on my site but that will be awhile). An important key in using a standard deck while using a Tarot reference is to know that the standard suits correspond to the main Tarot suits(nowadays you will see Tarot decks without the standard Tarot suits but the accompanying literature will explain the correspondence so that you are able to use a Tarot text for a reference with these decks).

With this information, you now can easily use a regular playing card deck for Tarot readings and learn from any Tarot resource how to assign meanings to your readings. One note,please keep the deck designated for readings only to increase your accuracy in divination. Good Luck.

Beginners Yes-No Tarot spreads

For you who are just starting out with this method of divination, I want to describe 2 methods for using the Tarot . Both of these spreads can be used with a Tarot deck or with a regular playing card deck(it must be a deck that is delegated for this purpose though) . Please use the appropriate attitude when performing this type of work. You need to be respectful of the strength of the energies involved.

Spread 1

Shuffle the deck while thinking of the yes-no question. Cut the deck to the left. Bring the cards together in one pile. Split the cards into 2 piles. As you split the deck into two piles, please tell one deck that it is the "yes" pile and the other pile should be told that it is the "no" pile. Lift the top card of each pile. The highest ranking card(aces are high in the regular playing card deck) tells you that the corresponding pile is the correct one. So if your "no" pile shows a 3 and your "yes" pile shows a 8, the answer to your question is yes.

Spread 2

Shuffle the deck while thinking of the yes-no question. Cut the deck to the left. Bring the card together in one pile. Now take the cards off the top of the pile one at a time placing them in one new pile. You are looking for an Ace. Stop when you reach an Ace. If you do not reach an Ace by the 13th card, begin a new pile. If you do reach an Ace, leave it on top of the pile and start a new pile. Repeat this 2 times. You should end up with 3 piles which may or may not have an Ace on the top. If there are no Aces, the answer to your question is not available yet. The Aces give the answer by their direction. If the Ace is upright, the answer is yes. If the Ace is inverted or reversed, the answer is no. So, if you have only upright Aces, the answer is yes. If you have only reversed Aces, the answer is no. If the Aces are a mixture of upright and inverted the answer is indefinite with a tendency toward the most Aces in one direction(2 Aces up 1 down =probably yes) .
